MTA Academic Year 2025-26 Registration is now open!

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 academic year at Maryland Tamil Academy, Inc.! We’re thrilled to have you with us and wanted to share some important details about getting started. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at registrations@marylandtamilacademy.org, and please include your child’s full name, class, and ID.

Key Date:

Orientation Day for new students/families & First Day of School: Friday, September 12, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:45 PM at Kingsview Middle School, Germantown, MD.

MTA 2025 – 26 Online Student Enrollment User Guide:

Who can Register:

  • Returning Students:  Those who were with us last year 2024-2025 in (Pre-M to Level 8) class.
  • New students: Children aged 4 as of September 1, 2025 or older.

For New Students:

Creating a New Parent Account:

  • New families should start by applying through this link: https://portal.marylandtamilacademy.org/online_admission.  Once the application is submitted, please wait for an email confirmation as the MTA Registration team reviews your application.
  • After our review, you’ll get two emails from registrations@marylandtamilacademy.org:
    • Email 1: Confirmation of your application.
    • Email 2: Your MTA parent portal login details, instructions to reset your password, and how to make your registration donation.
  • If you are registering multiple children, then use the same primary email (Guardian email) for all applications.

For Returning Students:

1. Existing Parent Accounts:

  • Please avoid submitting a new application for students who are already enrolled to prevent creating duplicate records and ensure your child’s current Student ID is transferred correctly.
  • Log in to the MTA registration portal using the primary email (guardian email) from last year: https://portal.marylandtamilacademy.org/site/userlogin
  • If you’ve forgotten your password, then use the “Forgot Password” link to recover it.
  • Once logged in, go to the fees section to process your registration donation. If you notice any issues with your child’s information, please let us know at registrations@marylandtamilacademy.org. 

2. Adding More Students (Siblings):

  • To add a new student (sibling), follow the steps in the “Creating a New Parent Account” section, using your primary email (Guardian email). We’ll review your application and send you a confirmation email with more details.
  • If you don’t see a previously enrolled child in the students’ section, then please contact us at registrations@marylandtamilacademy.org.

High School Credit:

  • MTA students who are High school students from Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) can earn 0.5 credits for completing the school year in the category of outside language/cultural study.
  • This is optional and comes at no extra cost. However, please be aware that to qualify for the 0.5 credit, the student must meet the success criteria established by MTA/MCPS.
  • To apply for this credit, email registrations@marylandtamilacademy.org with the MCPS student name, MCPS ID, high school name, and grade.

Registration Donation/Payment:

1. Online Payments:

  • In the left-hand side of the navigation menu of MTA’s portal, select the fees section, choose the student you want to pay for, and click the “Pay” button to use PayPal for your donation/payment.
  • We prefer PayPal for donations/payments.
  • Please make payments separately for each student linked to your account.

2. Paying by Check:

  • If you prefer to pay by check, email us at registrations@marylandtamilacademy.org for instructions.
  • Checks will be processed within 5 business days. Book purchases will only happen after checks are cleared, and any fees from bounced checks will be your responsibility and could increase enrollment fees.

Please note, “We don’t accept cash” payments.
